International Action of Commemoration, June 22

Every year, on June 22, the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly holds an International Action of Commemoration as a sign of respect for the known and unknown heroes of the Great Patriotic war. The aim of the Action is to show that the memory of one of the most tragic pages in the history of the XX century, the memory of people who lived together in a single country, passed through all the hardships of a terrible war, survived and won, will forever remain in the hearts of people. The hearts of descendants keep the eternal memory of those who died at the front, were tortured in captivity, died of wounds, hunger and deprivation – all who gave their lives for the sake of the Great Victory.

At about 4 a.m. Moscow time, participants of the Action in their countries, cities and villages light candles, lay flowers, read poems and sing songs of the Great Patriotic war at memorials or monuments where war heroes are buried.

The International Action of Commemoration on June 22 is a part of the "IMMORTAL MEMORY" megaproject.

Everyone can take part in the International Action of Commemoration, regardless of their citizenship and location. On June 22, at 4 a.m. (Moscow time) people go to memorial places, lay flowers, light candles, and make photos and/or videos of their participation in the Action. Videos and photos should be posted in social networks with the hashtags: #22junya #eurasiaassembly #pobedilivmeste #victorioustogether #assemblyarodovevrazii #Daypamyatiskorbi
