June 22, 1941 – one of the saddest dates in modern history, the beginning of the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945), the liberation war of the USSR peoples against Nazi Germany and its allies, which is the most important and decisive part of the Second World War (1939-1945).
Moldova. Kishinev. On June 22 leaders of public organizations lit a “Candle of Memory” and laid flowers at the Monument to “Cadets, Suvorov and Nakhimov soldiers who fell on the battlefield, died of wounds and diseases, and gave their souls for the Faith and Fatherland”.
Chairman of the Lithuanian Cadets, a graduate of the Kiev Military Academy of 1972, Head of the Military Heritage Institute, laureate of the International Prize of the Foundation of St. Andrew, Lieutenant Colonel in Reserve Duty Yurius Trakshyalis visited Moldova at the invitation of the Head of the Public Association “Cadet Brotherhood”, Reserve Colonel, Sergei Nazarenko, past the Afghan war, a graduate of the Kiev Military Academy of 1973, within the International Project “Memory Book- Europe”.
