Representation of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly in Bashkortostan Held the First Meeting of the Public Council

Today, on July 23, 2020, the first meeting of the Representation’s Public Council took place under the chair of the First Vice-Premier of the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Head of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly Representation in the Republic of Bashkortostan Andrey Nazarov.

The Public Council includes public figures, businessmen, entrepreneurs and bankers.

“We have gathered a Public Council under the Representation of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly to discuss with active citizens how we can develop public activities tomorrow. Whatever direction we take, we want to be the first,” - said Andrey Nazarov. He added that such meetings of the Public Council would be held on a regular basis.

The event was attended by General Secretary of the Assembly Andrey Belyaninov, Deputy Head of the General Secretariat for Information Policy of the Assembly Lyubov Elkina, heads of large business associations, public figures and active Bashkortostan citizens who joined the Assembly.

Experts summed up the results of the Representative Office's activities for the first half of the year, discussed the work plan and future development strategy.

In his opening speech, Andrey Belyaninov paid special attention to the effectiveness of the Republic's leadership: “We know about the success of the team of the Head of the Republic Radiya Khabirov. It was able to do a lot for the socio-economic development of Bashkiria, also for protecting people during the pandemic. In particular, in record time, in 55 days, using the technologies of Chinese Wuhan and Russian Moscow, a high-tech infectious diseases hospital was built. We are proud to tell this to the partners of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly and believe that such integration experience can be offered to different countries, taking into account, that the epidemiological situation in the world is still not stable.”

In his speech, Andrey Nazarov recalled the establishment of the Representation of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly in the Republic. He noted that the purpose of cooperation between the Assembly and Bashkortostan is to expand and strengthen international humanitarian and business cooperation, exchange experience and information in the field of tourism, culture, education, sports, work with youth, as well as in the commercial and industrial environment, including exports, imports, finance, investment and innovation. Andrey Nazarov also indicated that members of the Representation’s Public Council are prominent public figures in the Republic; they will make their proposals to the Representation’s work.

Executive Secretary of the Representative Office Dmitry Trapeznikov in his speech stressed that in accordance with the measures taken to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection throughout the country and in the Republic of Bashkortostan, the approved Work Plan for the current year has undergone significant changes. Nevertheless, the Representative office takes part in the implementation of a number of projects. Since April, the Representation of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly in the Republic of Bashkortostan has joined the volunteer movement “Our Concern”, in which the supporters and staff of the Assembly's Representation provide assistance to residents of the region in the delivery of medicines and food packages. One of the most significant projects of the Representative office can be considered the organization of a series of radio programs “Streets of Our Heroes” on “Radio Russia. Bashkortostan”. The Representative Office also organized online conferences on various activities.

Dmitry Trapeznikov called the events planned to be held in Ufa, namely, the Eurasian Forum of Volunteers, the World Folklore Festival and EURASIADA, very significant.

Participants of the meeting - members of the Public Council also made a number of proposals to the Representation’s Work Plan. Issues of tourism development, organization of business events with the involvement of international partners, translation of effective work experience of the Representative Office members to the countries of Greater Eurasia, coordination of volunteer work at the national level were raised.
