Representatives of the General Secretariat of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, the Ministry of Youth Policy and Sports of the Republic of Bashkortostan, and the Autonomous Non-Commercial Organization “Direction of Sports and Social Events and Projects” took part in the online meeting.
The decision to hold “Eurasiada” in Ufa was made on May 23, 2019 in Moscow during a meeting of the leadership of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly and the Republic of Bashkortostan. The meeting resulted in signing an agreement on cooperation.
Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly Andrey Belyaninov:
- It is a great honor for us that Bashkortostan has shown interest in the idea of holding the Eurasian Games. Knowing the region's high readiness to host events of any scale, we are very pleased that we have signed a cooperation agreement. I am sure that the Eurasiada will be held at the highest level. This will be a significant event not only in our country, but also in the world.
Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov:
- We are very interested in the project proposed by the Assembly colleagues. Bashkortostan is the heart of Eurasia; a lot of cultural and sporting events are held here. We have agreed that Ufa will host the Eurasiada. It is a very big, serious story. We will establish an organizing committee and work directly on the preparation of sports infrastructure, the events themselves, and necessary negotiations. It is important to hold games at the highest level. This will be one of the brightest cultural events of our country and, of course, of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
