Today, on December 5, is the VII Congress of the Federal National-Cultural Autonomy of Belarusians in Russia. Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly Andrey Belyaninov greeted the participants of the Congress.

The greeting says:

- I thank the Chairman of the Council of the Federal National-Cultural Autonomy of Belarusians of Russia, member of the General Council of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly, First Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Assembly of Peoples of Russia, member of the Council under the President of the Russian Federation for Interethnic Relations, Honored Worker of the Russian Federation, Academician of the Russian Academy of Education, professor, Doctor of Psychological sciences, Laureate of the State Prize of the Russian Federation Sergei Lvovich Kandybovich and all those involved in the activities of the Federal National-Cultural Autonomy of Belarusians in Russia for your noble work.

I represent the International Union of Non-Governmental Organizations “Eurasian Peoples' Assembly”.

The establishment of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly in 2017 is one of the most important implemented tasks dictated by time. Our goal is to form an integration model of a large Eurasian partnership at the public level, expand and deepen contacts between peoples in addition to the development of political cooperation, transport, logistics, trade and financial ties of the countries of Eurasia.

Today, representatives of non-governmental organizations from 43 countries, including Belarus, are members of the Assembly.

The Eurasian Peoples' Assembly and the Federal National-Cultural Autonomy of Belarusians in Russia are very close by the nature of their activity. We have a common responsibility to history - to preserve the achievements of our predecessors, we can be proud of; responsibility to the future - for the preservation of moral traditions, ethno cultural identity of our peoples and the transfer of social experience to subsequent generations.

The Eurasian Peoples' Assembly considers the diversity of peoples living on our continent that have contributed to the development of Eurasia: science, culture, technical achievements, spiritual knowledge and experience to be the greatest value. The creative and cultural potential of the peoples of Eurasia, their historical experience is an inexhaustible source of the development of the continent.

The people of Belarus are heroic. It was Belarus that 75 years ago took the main blow to the USSR from the German fascist invaders and lost most of its population. In the name of truth, in the name of these irreplaceable losses, our common task is to preserve the memory of those years of horror for the whole world. The Eurasian Peoples' Assembly pays great attention to this issue. We have an international megaproject “VICTORIOUS TOGETHER – in the name of Peace”. We try to unite all common public initiatives dedicated to this issue. The megaproject today includes public forums to preserve the historical memory of the Second World War and the Great Patriotic War; Sevastopol International Festival of Documentary Films and TV Programs “VICTORIOUS TOGETHER”, International patriotic project “Road of Life - Road of Military Glory”, international commemorative events in honour of the significant events of the Second World War and the Great Patriotic War and other events. In particular, a Paris-Moscow-Paris air flight is planned for 2021 to mark the anniversary of the Normandy-Niemen squadron.

This Saturday, December 5, we hold the sixth session of the International Public Forum “Preserving the Memory of the Second World War and the Great Patriotic War”. The Forum draws attention to the issues of the historical memory of peoples, the movement against the erosion of value and semantic histories, the falsification of the results of the Second World War. The live broadcast of the Forum's speeches will begin at 11 a.m. (Moscow time) on the YouTube Channel of our partners “Digital History”.

I invite all of you to join our work. Together we can do even more in this area.

The Eurasian Peoples' Assembly is interested in cooperation with public organizations and associations of our continent. We invite you all to join our ranks. We believe that the cause of peace is the cause of the whole world.
