Schoolchildren and Students from the CIS countries are invited to the Online Quest “Learning to Understand Russia - Learning to Understand Each Other”

October 26 to November 6, 2020, the Centre for International and Political studies, “Caspian – Eurasia” and the Astrakhan state technical University supported by the Presidential Grants Foundation implements the project “Online Quest “Learning to Understand Russia - Learning to Understand Each Other” (on the online platform eTutorium).

More than 100 schoolchildren and students from the countries of the Caspian region and Central Asia will take part in the virtual quest. Experts from Astrakhan and Moscow - leading philologists, historians, and local historians - will be their mentors.

According to the organizers, the main goal of the event is to preserve and promote Russian-language information content and the Russian language in the CIS countries, as well as to form a common socio-cultural space in the Caspian Sea region. The online quest is intended to become a good educational, discussion and project platform, as well as to enhance the cross-cultural competence of expert mentors who attract young people to participate in the project.

The Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly devotes great attention to working with children and young people. The Assembly has a Youth Wing - the Eurasian Youth Assembly (EYA). Its main goal is to unite the youth of the countries of Eurasia (individuals and legal entities) to represent and protect common interests, achieve socially useful goals in the development of integration processes on the Eurasian continent, form a system of great partnership of the peoples of Eurasia in the name of establishing on the basis of common spiritual and moral principles of peace and harmony in the Eurasian space through public (people's) diplomacy, culture, science, education and entrepreneurship. In addition, the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly implements a permanent humanitarian project EURASIA KIDS, which includes information and cultural exchange between children of Russia and the countries of Eurasia.

The Online Quest “Learning to Understand Russia - Learning to Understand Each Other” includes: online lectures and practical classes on working with information portals of Russian museums, theatres, libraries, as well as project work. Participants will independently search for so-called cultural staples: traditions, texts, cultural symbols and signs, while referring to the resources of Russian museums and libraries.

Schoolchildren and students aged 14 to 25 from the countries of the Caspian region and Central Asia is invited to participate in the Quest. To register, you must fill out a form by October 25 indicating the country of residence, the name and surname of the participant, the place of study (educational institution, course/class), and specify the email address.
