On December 1, an online conference of the project “Homeland of Feat - Homeland of a Hero” took place.
In her welcoming speech, Svetlana Smirnova, First Deputy Secretary General - Head of the General Secretariat of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, noted that the activities of the International Relay “Homeland of Feat - Homeland of a Hero” are in many ways close to the goals of the Megaproject “VICTORIOUS TOGETHER – for Peace” that unites public initiatives in preserving the memory of the Second World War and the Great Patriotic War. Svetlana Smirnova proposed to join efforts to preserve the military memorial heritage and the spiritual and moral education of youth.
During the online conference the city of Kartaly, Chelyabinsk Region, Nakhimov Municipal District of the Hero City of Sevastopol and the Institute of Social Memory of the Academy of Military Sciences signed Twinning Agreement. The agreement was signed under the assistance of the Coordinator of the International Memory and Gratitude Relay “Homeland of Feat - Homeland of a Hero” Director of the Institute of Social Memory of the Academy of Military Sciences Alexander Uzhanov.
The basis of twinning relations is the feat of a native of the Kartalinsky District of the Chelyabinsk Region, Senior Lieutenant Ivan Semyonovich Pyanzin. In 1942 he performed a feat in the defence of Sevastopol and received the title of Hero of the Soviet Union.
Representatives of searching organisations, young soldiers, authorities of the cities of Kartaly and Sevastopol, as well as the Central Officers’ Club of the Aerospace Forces attended the ceremony.
Remind, on November 26, at the Assembly headquarters in Moscow the working meeting discussed the International megaproject of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly “VICTORIOUS TOGETHER – for Peace and Creation”, the consolidation of public initiatives in preserving the memory of the Second World War and the Great Patriotic War. In particular, the ways of formation and development of twinning relations between the settlements of Russia and the countries of Eurasia were outlined.
