First Meeting of the International Public Committee "VICTORIOUS TOGETHER"

On July 6, 2021, the first organizational meeting of the International Public Committee "VICTORIOUS TOGETHER" took place. The main aim of the meeting is to prepare and conduct a set of events aimed at preserving the historical and spiritual lessons of the greatest tragedy of the twentieth century – the Second World War and the Great Patriotic War.

To achieve its goals, the Committee will promote the disclosure of unknown and little-studied pages of the history of the war, develop intercultural cooperation to preserve the heritage of the peoples in the victory over fascism, Nazism and militarism, including resistance movements in Europe and Asia.

The first organizational session was attended by historians, political scientists, writers, scientists, public figures from Russia, Kazakhstan, China, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, France and other countries. The participants’ activities are consonant with the goals and objectives of the IPC "VICTORIOUS TOGETHER". The participants presented their proposals and initiatives for further joint activities.

Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly Andrei Belyaninov greeted the audience and expressed hope for constructive results of the Committee's activities. Svetlana Smirnova, First Deputy Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, delivered an opening speech. The meeting was chaired by Valery Ruzin, Deputy Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, President of the Eurasian Academy of Television and Radio.

The meeting approved the main activity areas of the International Public Committee "VICTORIOUS TOGETHER":

1. Preserving historical truth and countering attempts to falsify the results of the Second World War:

a) an inventory of all military memorial sites located on the territory of European states, compilation of a Register of military memorial sites (including memorial sites of the anti-Hitler coalition countries dedicated to the victory over Nazism);

b) systematic work on compiling and replenishing the lists of Soviet soldiers killed and missing in European countries;

c) the inclusion of all military memorial sites in the list of objects protected by the state and the most significant - in the list of objects protected by UNESCO.

2. Creation of a system of international public awards for the contribution to the Victory achievement.

3. Recognition of the Nazi Germany actions as genocide; public condemnation of the crimes of the Nazis against peace and humanity.

The second edition of Yegor Yakovlev's book "The War of Destruction: Origins, Design, Implementation" was presented. The monograph contains sensational documents and materials from Russian and foreign archives revealing the reconstruction of the Nazi genocide plot that matured on the eve of Hitler's invasion of the Soviet Union. They have already been partially presented within the documentary cycle “Genocide. Reich plan ". Publications will continue on the site of the project “Nuremberg. Casus Pacis".

IPC "VICTORIOUS TOGETHER" is an integral part of the mega-project of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly "Immortal Memory". The founder of the Committee is the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, co-founders are the Eurasian Academy of Television and Radio and the Digital History Research Foundation.
