On February 13, 2020, the Livadia Palace (Republic of Crimea, Russia) hosted the opening ceremony of the International Conference "Yalta 1945: Lessons of History" dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Crimean (Yalta) Conference of 1945.
The Conference was organized by the Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the Foundation for the Study of Historical Perspectives, the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly, the Livadia Palace Museum.
Andrei Belyaninov, Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly, heads the delegation of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly.
The participants were welcomed by: Gregory Karasin - First Vice-Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Science, Education and Culture; Vladimir Konstantinov - President of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea; Georgi Muradov - Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Crimea - Permanent Representative of the Republic of Crimea to the President of the Russian Federation; Olga Timofeeva - Deputy Governor - Chairman of the Government of Sevastopol; Natalia Narochnitskaya - President of the Historical Perspective Foundation, member of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation; Andrey Belyaninov - Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly, Ph.D.; Konstantin Mogilevsky - Executive Director of the Foundation "History of Fatherland".
Welcome addresses were delivered on behalf of: Valentina Matviyenko - President of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation; Vladimir Medinsky - Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation, former Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation.
On February 13, 2020 a ceremony of special cancelling the anniversary stamp «75 years of the Yalta Conference" was held; as well as took place the first two sessions of the conference: “Yalta-1945 as the Top of the Alliance” (moderators - Grigory Karasin - First Vice-Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Science, Education and Culture and Natalia Narochnitskaya - President of the Historical Perspective Foundation, member of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation) and “Yalta-1945. Principles of World Order and Challenges of Our Time" (moderators - Alexey Alexandrov - member of the Federation Council Committee on Constitutional Law and State Construction; Andrey Belyaninov - Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly, Ph.D.).
On February 14, the International Conference “Yalta 1945: Lessons of History” will continue its work. It will host the Yalta International Public Forum to preserve the memory of the Second World War and the Great Patriotic War "VICTORIOUS TOGETHER – for Peace and Creation" dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the 1945 Crimean (Yalta) Conference, organized by the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly. The forum is scheduled to discuss the Livadia Declaration on Peace and Security for the first time.
Also on February 14, the Livadia Palace Museum will hold roundtable meetings "Formation of Systems of International Relations: Historical Experience and Modern Trends" and "Yalta-1945: In the Name of Universal Peace".
