The Eurasian Peoples' Assembly and the BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry of India agreed to launch an Educational Program for Youth

MOSCOW. August 29, this year, Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly Andrey Belyaninov held a working meeting with the Deputy Chairman of the BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sameep Shastri (India) and the Co-Director of the BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ankita Sachdev (India).

“I am glad to welcome you to the headquarters of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly. We pay great attention to relations with India and work in all areas, and I believe that we need to strengthen cooperation,” - the words, Andrey Belyaninov began the meeting with.

Sameep Shastri came to the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly with a proposal to develop a joint educational program for young people in India and Russia in key areas - economics, culture and education.

“First of all, educational webinars should help young people understand the culture of different countries and, in particular, Russia and India,” - Mr. Shastri emphasized.

He also suggested organizing a student exchange program. 10 to 15 students could take part in it annually.

“Also, we would like to invite you to the development of the student exchange program. Next March, we want to hold a big cultural event and invite you to participate,” - Sameep Shastri said.

The Secretary General proposed to consider the issue of expanding the geography of countries that could take part in the educational program.

“Why educational webinars are to be held only for two countries. Maybe expand the BRICS geography?” - suggested the Secretary General.

It is assumed that educational modules will be formed in September-October this year, the geography of participants will be expanded, and the launch of webinars will begin before the end of the year.

During the meeting, the parties also raised the issue of current formats for building communication with young people. In this regard, the Secretary General shared his experience in the implementation of the Assembly's project "Letters of Happiness". “We invite everyone to remember the good tradition of sending handwritten postal items that would bring joy to loved ones. They say that when you share happiness, it becomes more,” - Andrey Belyaninov said and invited the meeting participants to write good wishes on postcards.

“Unfortunately, children today are stuck to the screen of smartphones and laptops. Modern schools and universities promote learning without books,” - said Ankita Sachdev.

Sameep Shastri and Ankita Sachdev wrote letters of happiness on postcards made according to the drawings of the participants of the project of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly.

The working meeting resulted in agreements on cooperation in the field of strengthening business relations, expanding cooperation through public diplomacy, exchanging experience and knowledge among the youth of the BRICS countries and developing cultural exchange.
