VI Eurasian Literary Festival "LIFT 2023" opens in Cairo

The solemn Opening ceremony of the VI Open Eurasian Literary Festival of Festivals "LiFFt-2023" began with the guests walking along the red carpet and taking a photo session.

The guests and participants were greeted by the Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly Andrey Belyaninov and the Co-Chair of the General Council of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Alexandra Ochirova. Margarita Al, the author of the idea and project manager of the LiFFT Eurasian Literary Festival of Festivals, poet, philosopher, chairman of the Literary Council of Writers and Readers of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly, solemnly handed over the flag of the Festival to the winner of the LiFFT 2021 Festival, the Egyptian writer, publicist and laureate of the Manhe Prize Ashraf Dali. The anthem of the festival was performed by People's Artist of Tatarstan Eduard Treskin.

Guests and participants of the VI Open Eurasian Literary Festival "LiFFt-2023" took part in the opening of the exhibition "The Book of the Poet and the Artist" in the Russian House in Cairo and made their common contribution to the creation of the Egyptian Book of the Poet and Artists.

The Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly Svetlana Smirnova and the Head of the Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Egypt Marat Gatin opened the Days of Russian Literature in Egypt. A significant event of the Russian Literature Days in Egypt was the presentation of Alexandra Ochirova's book translated into three languages (English, Arabic and Russian). The poems were read by Margarita Al, Ashraf Dali, Alexandra Lazukina, Vladimir Vikyu, Yulia Petrova and Sergey Biryukov.

On January 30, the presentation of the project "Children's Literature in World Confessions" will take place at the Coptic Church in Cairo. The participants will also visit the exhibition of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly and the VI Open Eurasian Literary Festival "LIFT-2023" at the Cairo International Book Fair, where books of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, LiFFt and Silk Road Publishing Houses and books of participants of the VI Open Eurasian Literary Festival " LiFFt-2023".

In the evening the festival participants will visit the Russian-Egyptian Foundation for Science and Culture. January 31 - Egyptian pyramids. A visit to the Museum of Modern Art will be accompanied by poetry readings and performances.

The VI Open Eurasian Literary Festival "LiFFt-2023" will end on February 1 with a rich program: a round table "The Image of the Man of the Future and the Man of the Future in Literature, Cinema and Fine Arts" "Yesterday Today, Tomorrow", the Cairo International Book fair, the presentation of books by LiFFt and Silk Road Publishing Houses.

On the last day of the festival, the First Congress of the initiative group and the founders of the World Organization of Writers' Associations WOW will be held, as a result of which the writers from more than 50 countries of the world will developed a memorandum on the establishment of the organization.

Writers from 72 countries of the world take part in the festival online, offline - from 18 countries of the world.
