A Textbook on Eurasian Economic Integration has become Widely Available

The Eurasian Economic Commission has made the textbook “Eurasian Economic Integration. Theory and Practice" prepared in 2022 publicly available. The Chairman of the editorial board was Member of the Supreme Advisory Council of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, (Minister) for Integration and Macroeconomics of the EEC Sergei Glazyev.

“Despite the importance of economic factors, the prospects for integration depend even more on ideological and civilizational attraction, understanding of the deep essence of Eurasian integration, its origins and prospects. The Eurasian Economic Commission pays close attention to this important area of work,” - says the preface to the publication.

This book is the first and only textbook of its kind that describes in detail the integration processes in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), one of the most advanced economic associations in the modern world and the most successful in the Eurasian space. The book presents the results of many years activity of the participating states in the formation and constant improvement of the supporting structures of the customs union, the common economic space and, finally, the EAEU itself.

The manual describes in detail the legal basis, formats and practice of developing coordinated, balanced decisions by the Union states in all functional areas of integration development in accordance with the documents of the Union strategic planning.

The peculiarity of the publication is that its co-authors were officials and employees of the EAEU regulatory body - the Eurasian Economic Commission, who on a daily basis are directly involved in solving specific problems that contribute to achieving the goals of economic integration, the establishment of the Union as a competitive association with effective tools for improving the level of and quality of life of citizens, creating the most favorable conditions for the functioning of business. The book harmoniously combines the presentation of the theoretical and methodological foundations of integration and the practice of their implementation.

The textbook was prepared with the scientific support of universities - participants of the Eurasian Network University, created in 2022. The presented manual will be interesting and useful for students studying the processes of regional integration in the Greater Eurasia space and specifically the features of the functioning of the EAEU, as well as for everyone who wants to get to know the activities of the Union better.
