The countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization signed a joint New Delhi Declaration following the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the SCO, which took place on July 4. In the Declaration, they noted the association's openness to broad cooperation and confirmed that the SCO's policy is not directed against other states.

The Declaration also says about respect for "the right of peoples to an independent and democratic choice of their political and socio-economic development ways." “Attempts to ensure one's own security at the expense of the security of other states are unacceptable,” the text of the Declaration states.

Nowadays, the SCO shows the increased importance of the organization in international politics, said Stanislav Korolev, Deputy Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, director of the National Center for Public Diplomacy of the SCO in Russia, live on RADIO METRO in the “Cultural Code” program.

“We live in a new structure of the world order, not everyone understands this now. We are in the process of forming a completely new system of world order, which lays down fundamentally new formats for the interaction of states with each other. The SCO has become an important platform for ensuring peace and developing prosperity throughout the Eurasian continent,” the expert noted.

The agenda of the New Delhi Summit was focused on the issues of the status and prospects for the development of precisely multilateral cooperation across the entire spectrum of the SCO areas, within which the parties can frankly discuss each other's interests, Korolev added.

In connection with the introduction of anti-Russian sanctions, the format of the SCO and its importance in terms of economic cooperation and interaction has increased, continues the director of the National Center for Public Diplomacy of the SCO in Russia.

“The National Center for Public Diplomacy of the SCO was established and presented in Russia on the eve of the Summit in New Delhi. This will significantly expand the tools of our state's work in the space of the Shanghai Organization,” Korolev said.

He also added that in the near future it is planned to start discussing the strategy for the development of Greater Eurasia as a continent. This is a continuation of the vector set by the Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly Andrey Belyaninov - the need to create a common strategy for the development of the continent.

“Until we begin to form a single agenda for our continent, as it has historically always been formed, we will always be vulnerable,” Stanislav Lvovich emphasized.

At the end of the broadcast, the expert noted: “Today, unfortunately, all problems arise due to the fact that people and systems forget their responsibilities towards themselves, their families, their city, their people, their state, and the Earth as a whole, and think only of their rights. This breeds narrow-mindedness, irresponsibility and conflicts at all levels, from personal to state.”
