The SCO People's Diplomacy Forum started in Qingdao (China)

To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the “Belt and Road” Initiative and the 22nd anniversary of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), the Chinese city of Qingdao, Shandong Province, is hosting the SCO Forum on People-to-People Friendship and the Forum on Friendship Cities.

This prestigious international event will become a new platform for expanding and strengthening exchanges and cooperation between Qingdao and the cities of the SCO member countries.

The Eurasian Peoples' Assembly is represented by Stanislav Korolev, Deputy Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, Director of the National Center for Public Diplomacy of the SCO.

On the eve of the Forum, the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly and the Chinese Committee of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization for Good Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation launched the procedure for signing a memorandum. The purpose and objectives of the memorandum are the desire to create a basis for cooperation and interaction to strengthen mutual trust and good neighborliness, to establish interaction between civil society institutions of states, including between children's, youth and women's organizations, as well as to promote the continuation of fruitful bilateral and multilateral cooperation in culture, education, academic exchanges, sports, media, tourism, science and technology, health care, traditional medicine, folk crafts, environmental protection and youth exchanges in the interests of mutual enrichment and rapprochement of peoples.
