On March 23, the Rossotrudnichestvo Representative Office in New Delhi (Russian House) hosted the opening ceremony of the photo exhibition "The Seagull on Earth and in the Sky" in honor of the 60th anniversary of Valentina Tereshkova's flight into space, as well as the opening of the exhibition of paintings "Twin Cities" by artist Elena Kutuzova. The events were held within the Days of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly in the Republic of India.

Before the event, astronauts from the International Space Station addressed the audience with a video greeting. In their speech, they noted the integral role of Valentina Tereshkova in the history of space exploration by women:

“We are grateful to Valentina Vladimirovna for her work, we admire her feat and are proud to continue the work of the first cosmonauts of our planet!”

The exhibition featured 20 photographs, all of them from the personal archive of Valentina Vladimirovna Tereshkova.

The project of the artist Elena Kutuzova "Twin Cities" is dedicated to the brotherhood and kinship of souls. The unique technique of "double image" allows you to tell two stories at once on one canvas: one - in normal light, the second - in ultraviolet light.

The opening ceremony of the two exhibitions was attended by: First Deputy Secretary General - Head of the General Secretariat of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly Svetlana Smirnova, Deputy Head of the General Secretariat, Chairman of the Council for Intercultural Cooperation Elmira Shcherbakova, President of the National Foundation for Support and Development of Public Initiatives and Social Programs "Razvitie" Olga Esipovskaya, as well as Russian artist, designer, author of the innovative double glow technique Elena Kutuzova.

After the solemn opening of the exhibitions, the audience watched the film "World Champion". The film’s plot is based on the history of the match for the title of world champion, which took place in the Philippines in 1978, between the current champion Anatoly Karpov and the contender for this title, grandmaster Viktor Korchnoi, who emigrated from the USSR several years ago. The clash of outstanding chess players is, first of all, a duel of characters. Against a young genius who has barely risen to the chess Olympus, a child prodigy and an idealist, is a seasoned fighter, obsessed and unpredictable, ready to fight with any weapon, chess is war for him.

The film was received very warmly by the audience. The film screening in New Delhi has become a landmark event, because real art unites all of us.
