First Deputy Secretary General - Head of the General Secretariat of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly Svetlana Smirnova, member of the Presidium of the Council under the President of Russia for Interethnic Relations, Chairman of the Commission of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation on Harmonization of Interethnic and Interreligious Relations Vladimir Zorin and General Director of the TV channel “Big Asia” Alexander Lebedev visited the Republic for a business purpose.
During the meeting with the Prime Minister of the Republic - Head of the Representation of the Eurasian Peoples 'Assembly in the Republic of Bashkortostan (Russia) Andrei Nazarov, they discussed the preparation for the Days of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly in Bashkortostan planned to be held in July 3 - 10 at the Bashkortostan State Concert Hall in Ufa.
“I am sure that the Days of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly in the Republic of Bashkortostan will become a point of attraction for business and cultural initiatives,” - the Prime Minister emphasized.
The guests discussed issues of interethnic and interfaith relations at meetings with Konstantin Tolkachev, Chairman of the State Assembly - Kurultay, with representatives of public organizations and national-cultural centres of the Republic and at a round table on the role of artistic creativity in strengthening the unity of the nation.
According to Svetlana Smirnova, Bashkortostan is one of those regions that has created its own regional model for the implementation of national policy. It is the region where people of different nationalities not only peacefully coexist, but live and make friends.
“The Head of the Republic, Radiy Faritovich Khabirov, is aware of these processes and skilfully manages them,” - she stressed.
The guests also took part in the opening of an exhibition of paintings of the personal collection of Vladimir Zorin at the Nesterov Museum. The visit ended with a sightseeing tour of Ufa.
