As part of a working visit to the International Research Center of World War II in Maribor, Deputy Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly Valery Ruzin (Russia) and Chairman of the Assembly’s Council on Historical Memory Laila Akhmetova (Kazakhstan) visited the village of Kumrovets in Croatia, the birthplace of the legendary leader of Yugoslavia, Josef Broz Tito.
There they met with the chairman of the Union of Anti-Fascist Fighters and Anti-Fascists (SABA) of the Republic of Croatia, Franjo Khabulin. Representatives of the countries discussed the possibilities of cooperation in preserving the historical heritage of the peoples of Eurasia - the heritage of the Victory of the allied forces over fascism in World War II. Soon, the partnership strategy will be presented to the Assembly. It will be based on cultural, socio-historical and scientific areas of work.
Franjo Khabulin is a well-known public figure in Europe who works to protect European security. One of his projects is the Zagreb Format.
Famous theses of Franjo Khabulin:
“It is necessary to timely identify trends aimed at the restoration and legitimization of fascism, including neo-fascism, in the public and political arena through historical revisionism”;
“It is unacceptable to reduce anti-fascism to the battles of World War II; anti-fascism is a much broader term. This is primarily a human and civilizational commitment. Today's Europe is built on anti-fascist foundations, without these foundations a democratic order is unthinkable, and therefore their undermining is a direct attack on democracy”;
"Patriotism cannot include narrow-minded, exclusive and xenophobic nationalism under any circumstances."
