Olzhas Suleimenov: Happy Russian Language Day!

06/06/2023 10:39

Olzhas Suleimenov, Co-Chairperson of the Council of Elders of the Eurasia Assembly, Director of the International Centre for the Rapprochement of Cultures under the auspices of UNESCO in Almaty, People's Writer of the Republic of Kazakhstan, congratulates the Russian Language Day.

Russian language…

Without the Russian language, without Russian literature, it is impossible to imagine the self-consciousness of the Kazakh people. This self-consciousness has developed through centuries of cultural interaction and mutual enrichment.

That is why we are inclined to consider the Russian language as a phenomenon of international, and not just national, importance.

On this important day for all of us, Alexander Pushkin's birthday, I would like to wish the organizers - the United Nations Office in Geneva, the Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation to the United Nations Office in Geneva, the Russian UN Association, the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly, the Government of Moscow, the MGIMO, Rossotrudnichestvo and the “Cultural Seasons” Foundation - as well as all the viewers of this wonderful tele marathon success in preserving and developing our common asset - the Russian language!

Best regards,
Olzhas Suleimenov
Poet, Chairman of the Nationwide public movement "People's Congress of Kazakhstan”
