Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Viktorovich Lavrov noted in his greeting to the participants of the General Assembly of the Peoples of Eurasia, that the deepening of integration processes on our vast continent is one of the unconditional priorities of Russian foreign policy:
“As you know, President Vladimir Putin has put forward an initiative to create a Greater Eurasian Partnership with the participation of such associations as the EAEU, SCO, ASEAN and, if there is a corresponding interest, the European Union. It is envisaged to combine national development strategies, multilateral integration formats and cross-border infrastructure projects.
Institutions of civil society are called upon to play a significant role in the implementation of such a large-scale plan. We appreciate the energetic and versatile activities of the Assembly to unite youth, prominent representatives of political, social, scientific and business circles. Your work is called upon to contribute to the disclosure of the significant potential of public diplomacy in strengthening the atmosphere of trust and mutual understanding between peoples.
I hope that the implementation of the rich program of today's forum will facilitate the establishment of useful contacts and the implementation of promising joint initiatives."
