A Memorandum was signed between the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly and the Chinese SCO Committee for Good Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation

The International Union of Non-Governmental Organizations "The Eurasian Peoples' Assembly" and the Chinese SCO Committee for Good Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation signed a Memorandum. The document was signed within the Forum of People's Diplomacy and the Forum of SCO Twin Cities, which took place in Qingdao (China).

On behalf of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, the document was signed by the Secretary General Andrey Belyaninov, on behalf of the Chinese SCO Committee for Good Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation - Deputy Chairman Cui Li.

The parties agreed on coordination in holding joint events in promoting cooperation between civil society institutions of the countries of the SCO region, on the exchange of knowledge, opinions, and best practices in public diplomacy.

The document emphasizes that the Memorandum is based on the "Shanghai Spirit", which embodies mutual trust, equality, respect for the diversity of cultures, and the desire for joint development."

The tasks of bilateral cooperation are quite extensive and include strengthening mutual trust and good neighborliness, establishing interaction between civil society institutions, including children's, youth and women's organizations, as well as promoting the continuation of fruitful bilateral and multilateral cooperation in culture, education, academic exchanges, sports, media, tourism, science and technology, health care, traditional medicine, folk crafts, environmental protection and youth exchanges in the interests of mutual enrichment and rapprochement of peoples.
