The fact that he is a saint gives us the opportunity and the need not to forget, and finishing the anniversary year, we do not close our memory, our grateful memory of the great saint. Some Historians may support, but I believe that Alexander Nevsky, especially considering the historical realities in which he lived, he became one of the founders of the Russian state.

All events that are somehow linked to the state-building of our Russian state, they are associated with Alexander Nevsky. Here, on these lands, there are a lot of iconic places that are located not only in St. Petersburg, but also in the Leningrad region and beyond.

Yuri Palamarchuk thanked the Committee on Local Self-Government, Interethnic and Interfaith Relations of the Leningrad Region for help in organizing the round table and providing a platform for it.
In general, this year the LSG committee organized many other events in honor of Alexander Nevsky, including a Round Table in the Presidential Library, the festival of Bright Resurrection of Christ, where schoolchildren presented their creative works on the theme of the exploits of Alexander Nevsky. Also, in honor of the great commander a book was published.
One of the most important tasks, the participants emphasized, is to make sure that similar meetings continue in the future, and that the great ruler, commander and saint of the Russian land will be remembered not only in the year of the 800th anniversary.
