For several years, the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly has been supporting the organizers of the International Project "The Female Face of Migration".
The organizer and initiator of the project is the Sverdlovsk regional public organization "Kyrgyzstan-Ural" of the Kyrgyz Diaspora.
The project is traditionally held in the Sverdlovsk region. The project is supported by the Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region, the Ministry of International and Foreign Economic Relations of the Sverdlovsk Region, and the City Administration of Yekaterinburg.
On March 3-4, 2022, a series of events was held in the Sverdlovsk region with the participation of NGOs from Kyrgyzstan and Russia, the expert community, business representatives and the media. Topic - "The role of women entrepreneurs in shaping the sustainable development of the territory."
The international conference "The female face of migration: the role of women entrepreneurs in shaping the sustainable development of the territory" was supported by: the UN Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women "UN Women", the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the All-Russian Public Organization of Small and medium business "Opora Rossii".
Svetlana Smirnova, First Deputy Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, welcoming the participants of the international conference, emphasized that the migration theme has become an integral part of the modern process of world economic, social and political integration. The conference provides an opportunity to discuss ways to improve the situation of women with a migration history.
“We need sustainable political solutions to fundamentally change the current situation,” - Svetlana Smirnova said.
Vasily Kozlov, Deputy Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region, noted in his speech that the development of small and medium-sized businesses creates favorable conditions for the economy and is an integral part of it, so the region always provides support to both beginners and experienced entrepreneurs, in particular migrant women who start their own business.
Vice Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Jamilya Isayeva, in turn, thanked the organizers for productive cooperation and noted that work in Yekaterinburg and the Sverdlovsk region really gives women entrepreneurs new opportunities.
