International Forum for Spiritual Harmony: "Linguistic Diversity and Spiritual Culture of the Peoples of Eurasia"

A regular session of the International Forum for Spiritual Harmony “Linguistic Diversity and Spiritual Culture of the Peoples of Eurasia” was held in Delhi (India).

For the third consecutive year, the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly celebrates the International Mother Language Day on February 21, reaffirming the commitment to the principles of UNESCO for the preservation and development of the mother language as a strategic factor in the progress of every nation.

The Forum was organized by the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly and the Gobind Sadan Institute for Advanced Studies in Comparative Religion, India.

Moderators:

  • Svetlana SMIRNOVA, First Deputy Secretary General - Head of the General Secretariat of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, member of the Council under the President of the Russian Federation for Interethnic Relations;
  • Mary Pat FISHER, writer, member of the Presidium of the World Forum for Spiritual Culture, member of the Presidium of the International Association "Peace through Culture", member of the Council of Elders of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly.

The meeting was held in a hybrid format with the participation of representatives of science, education and the spiritual sphere:

  • Dr. Bhupinder SINGH KHAIR, Sanskrit Scholar, former Head of the Department of Linguistics, Punjabi University;
  • Ralph SINGH Founding President of Gobind Sadan USA, Founding Member of North American Interfaith Network (USA);
  • Joginder KAURA, member of the North American Interfaith Network;
  • Zhenishkul KHULKHACHIEVA, Head of the Department of Languages and Cultures of the CIS Countries and Near Abroad, Moscow State Linguistic University, Candidate of Philology, Associate Professor;
  • Elmira GUTIEVA, Researcher, Department of Ossetian Linguistics, North Ossetian Institute for Humanitarian and Social Research, Dean of the Faculty of Ossetian Philology, North Ossetian State University;
  • Abdukakhor KOSIMOVA, poet, publicist, national coordinator of the World Poetry Movement - World Without Walls, WPM in Tajikistan;
  • Sariya MAMMADOVA, writer, member of the Union of Writers of Russia and the Union of Writers of Azerbaijan;
  • Santosh KUMAR POKHAREL, poet, translator, founder of the International Literary Forum in Nepal;
  • Elmira SAMOKHINA, Board member of the Idea Foundation for Social Activism, head of the representative office of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly in the Sverdlovsk Region (Russia);
  • SEDOVA Yulia Vladimirovna Chairman of the Board of Sarapul City Public Organization for the Support of Youth National and Cultural Associations, General Director of the “Community” Foundation for the Support of Local Initiatives (Russia, Udmurtia)

Writers from Israel, Indonesia, Italy, Kazakhstan, Cuba, Portugal, Serbia, Uzbekistan in video greetings addressed the participants of the forum in their native languages.

The Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, as an international union of non-governmental organizations, considers one of the main tasks to create conditions for the preservation and development of the spiritual culture of each nation. The participants focused on the need to jointly pass down language history, culture and best traditions from generation to generation, mastering new progressive forms of communication, contributing to the strengthening of mutual understanding and friendship between peoples.
