On June 23, the II International Altai Forum was held in the Regional Agro-Industrial Park of the Republic of Armenia "Amza" in Gorno-Altaisk (Russia). It was attended by the UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, Co-Chair of the General Council of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, Doctor of Philosophy Alexandra Ochirova and Deputy Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly, Professor Yulia Petrova.

The focus was on the discussion of the integration potential of Altai in the construction of the Eurasian space, the creation of a Eurasian cultural center, as well as the prospects for expanding cross-border cooperation in the region. Forum participants discussed the development of scientific, educational, cultural and tourism ties.

UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Alexandra Ochirova made a presentation on the topic: "On the issue of the civilized and humanitarian basis of Eurasianism."

“The concept is connected with the need to change the world agenda, with the formation of new interaction protocols, new solutions, including in public diplomacy, which is where I refer this forum to. Public diplomacy should be based on meanings and truth.

Unfortunately, this civilization, which has a long historical period of its development, has not only opportunities for sustainable and safe development, but also risks, up to the risks of self-destruction. It is full of serious contradictions, poverty, famine, epidemics, man-made and natural disasters. The problems of an ideological nature that are associated with the ideologies of fascism, terrorism, nationalism, and national superiority are not the least of these. The difficulty of combating these phenomena lies not only in the creation of any specific technologies, but also in the impossibility of using strategic decisions and methods on a global or regional scale, because today the strategy is a search task for all countries.

Modern planetary consciousness, like the humanities, has not retained the approaches developed in antiquity to comprehend at the categorical, philosophical, scientific levels the theme of man, his place in the world, in local civilizations, which either joined each other or swept each other away on their historical path..."

The concept of Alexandra Ochirova, voiced at the international forum, formed the basis of the resolution - the recognition of the Eurasian humanitarian vector with updated approaches to intercultural dialogue.

In her speech, Yulia Petrova, Deputy Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, noted the importance of holding such international forums that contribute to the formation of the Eurasian scientific, educational, spiritual and cultural space not only at the Russian, but also at the international level. The Deputy Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly focused on the role of education as a source of stable development of society and on the need to improve general educational programs.

Yulia Petrova suggested that the forum participants jointly conduct educational research on education for sustainable development (ESD) and the involvement of young people in them, what will undoubtedly make a significant contribution to the fulfillment of the mission and mandate of UNESCO to form a new generation of leaders aimed at building a sustainable and safe society.

“Joint activities will mark the beginning of a large project filled with humanitarian content. It is important to actively involve the partners of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly from the countries of the Middle East, Africa and other countries of the Eurasian space for the joint development of advanced ideas for strengthening and developing international cooperation,” Yulia Petrova emphasized.

At the solemn reception of the Head of the Republic of Altai, Alexandra Ochirova was awarded the “Friendship of Peoples” commemorative token of the Ministry for Foreign Relations and Affairs of the Peoples of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) for her contribution to strengthening interethnic peace and harmony, active work on the mutual enrichment of interethnic cultures.

The event was also attended by representatives of the Federation Council and the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO, the General Council of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, the constituent entities of the Russian Federation and the Altai Republic, the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Russian Federation, as well as cultural and art figures.

As a result of this event, a decision was made to hold an international competition of research works on the forum’s topics among students in partner universities of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly.
