The Head of the Representative Office of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly took part in the Celebrations in Honor of the 80th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between Russia and Egypt

A Gala event dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Egypt took place in the capital of Egypt. It was organized by the Russian diplomatic mission. The guests were received by the Russian Ambassador in Cairo Evgeny Borisenko and embassy staff.

The Head of the Representative Office of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly in the Arab Republic of Egypt, Professor of economics at the Sadat Academy for Management Sciences in Cairo, former Minister of Labor of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Dr. Nour Nada took part in the celebrations along with his colleagues. The Sadat Academy delegation included: Professor Dr. Mohamed Hassan Abdel Azim, President of the Academy; Professor Dr. Mohamed Saleh Hashem, member of the Board of Directors of the Sadat Academy; leaders of the Academy's student union.

The celebrations took place at the Al Masriya Opera House in Cairo with the participation of many political, diplomatic and media leaders, including the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt. The Russian satellite channel RT was involved in the event.

The General Secretariat of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly notes the work of the Assembly's Representative Office in Egypt as one of the most active. The Head of the Representative Office, Professor Dr. Nour Nada, takes part in many key events and projects of the International Union of Non-Governmental Organizations.

Russian Ambassador to Egypt Evgeny Borisenko expressed confidence that the joint membership of Russia and Egypt in the BRICS group, which Cairo officially joined on January 1, 2024, will further strengthen bilateral relations. The Russian ambassador believes that “cooperation between the countries has gained new impetus over the past decade” thanks to the close interaction between the leaders of the two states.

Diplomatic relations between the USSR and the Arab Republic of Egypt were established on August 26, 1943. The accumulated experience of fruitful joint work, reliance on the principles of friendship, trust, mutual respect and consideration of each other’s interests today constitute a solid foundation for our relations, which have reached the level of comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation.
