Global Food Forum 2021 Program approved during the Visit to MSUFP

On December 28, a delegation of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly, headed by the Secretary General Andrey Belyaninov, visited the Moscow State University of Food Production (MSUFP).

The participants of the working meeting approved the Program of the Global Food Forum, which will be held in March 23 to 25, 2021 in Moscow on the basis of MSUFP. The Rector of the University, Mikhail Balykhin is a Chairman of the Council for Science and Continuing Education of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly.

Earlier, at an online project and analytical session on the preparation of the Global Food Forum 2021, Oleg Kobyakov, Director of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations Office for Communication with the Russian Federation, said that “the international structures of the UN FAO, WHO, UNESCO, the World Bank, the Committee to Combat Devastation and others will not only support, but also help in organizing and holding a large-scale and diverse Global Food Forum”.

The main goal of the Forum is to unite the efforts of all progressive forces of the world community to identify and prevent internal and external threats to food security, to ensure sustainable development of food production and raw materials sufficient to provide high-quality food to the world's population.

“The task of the upcoming Forum is, first of all, to activate the mechanisms of civil society, the scientific community and educational organizations to maintain the physical and economic accessibility of each person to safe food products necessary for an active and healthy lifestyle, to develop innovations and training in food security and nutrition security, and to form cross-sectoral and international relations, mechanisms of interstate dialogues in solving urgent problems of ensuring food security”, - Mikhail Balykhin said during the meeting.

During the visit, Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly Andrey Belyaninov got acquainted with the laboratories, innovation centres and sites of MSUFP. “The new approaches that your educational institution demonstrates deserve attention. And the experience you have must be spread,” - said Andrey Belyaninov.
