Film Screening of World Champion in Brussels

On March 14, 2023, the film "World Champion" was screened at the UN Headquarters in Brussels (Belgium). The film screening was held as part of the “Art Unites” project of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly with the support of the Government of Moscow and the “Peace and Harmony” Charitable Foundation for Social Initiatives.

Before the screening, Elmira Shcherbakova, Deputy Head of the General Secretariat of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, addressed the audience with a welcoming speech.

Some wins in sports are more than just sports. They become part of history. This film is about the most dramatic and legendary duel in the chess history - the match for the title of world champion between the reigning world champion Anatoly Karpov and the contender for this title, grandmaster Viktor Korchnoi, who emigrated from the USSR a few years before this match.
