The Eurasian Peoples' Assembly held an Online Meeting with Foreign Graduates of Soviet and Russian Universities

On July 12, 2023, the headquarters of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly hosted an online meeting with foreign graduates of Soviet and Russian universities.

On behalf of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly spoke: Secretary General Andrey Belyaninov; Deputy Secretary General, Professor Yulia Petrova; Head of the Department of Sustainable Development Dr. Yaser Alaham, teachers and students of Moscow State University, MGIMO, the Diplomatic Academy, the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation and the Moscow State Kutafina Law Academy. In his speech, the Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly Andrei Belyaninov greeted the participants of the conference, spoke about the need to strengthen friendly partnerships in the current conditions by organizing regular meetings and discussions to discuss issues of developing cooperation between representatives of the countries of the Eurasian space. Andrei Yuryevich invited graduates to visit the headquarters of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly.

“How can we continue to live in this changing world? We need to help and support each other!” - said the Secretary General.

The meeting was moderated by the Deputy Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, Professor Yulia Petrova.

“In view of the need to find loyal allies who share our common views on the international situation in an unstable and rapidly changing world, it is necessary to use the full range of spheres available in the armory of public diplomacy: cultural and humanitarian, scientific and educational, economic. All of them form an important part of the foreign policy of any country, because they are the basis for mutual understanding, any cooperation begins from. With extensive knowledge and rich experience, each representative can contribute to the promotion of the universal values of friendship, mutual understanding and good neighborliness between states and peoples. The Council of Elders of Graduates of Soviet and Russian universities should become an authoritative coordinating center for their dissemination,” Yulia Petrova noted.

Representatives of the countries of the post-Soviet space and the Arab world took part in the discussion and expressed their proposals, among which Romanchuk Anzhey Markovich (Republic of Poland), Aniset Gabriel Kochofa (Republic of Benin), Dragana Trifkovik (Republic of Serbia), Snezhana Todorova (Republic of Bulgaria), Tony Malouf (Lebanese Republic), Elen Otaru (United Republic of Tanzania), Nour Nada (Arab Republic of Egypt), Datan Naer (Republic of India), Salam Towal (Hashemi Kingdom of Jordan), Abdullatif Bahrawi (Kingdom of Morocco), Georges Aoun (Lebanese Republic), Yusif Zeynal (Kingdom of Bahrain), Akifi Shah Sultan (Afghanistan), Abdel Jalil Yasin (Republic of Iraq), Huseynov Teymur (Republic of Azerbaijan), Alhadi bin Saheh (Republic of Tunisia).

The meeting also touched upon such topics as: the creation of a sustainable system of partnerships in the long term, the need for interaction in the field of education, culture, economics and business, the role of public diplomacy in modern conditions.

As a result of the discussion, an agreement was reached on the establishment of the Council of Elders of Soviet and Russian Universities, as well as on the opening of representative offices of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly in the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Republic of Iraq, the United Republic of Tanzania, the Lebanese Republic and other countries, as well as on the promotion of the Russian language and Russian schools in partner countries of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly.
