The Eurasian Peoples' Assembly develops Cooperation with Partners from Tajikistan

The delegation of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, at the invitation of the executive power of the Sughd region of the Republic of Tajikistan, took part in the events of the IX International Trade Fair "SUGD - 2023", which took place on June 22-24 in Khujand. During business meetings, there were reached agreements on joint work to develop tourism, expand cooperation in culture and public diplomacy.

On June 23, Marina Plyasunova, Deputy Head of the General Secretariat of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, spoke on the sidelines of the International Forum "Trade and Investment Opportunities - Prospects for Cooperation", which was held as part of the Fair. She noted the high role of interpersonal contacts in establishing trust between peoples and, as a result, between the economies of countries: “From the trust of people to the trust of economies” - this principle is followed by the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly in its activities.”

The Chairman of the Sughd region, Rajabboy Ahmadzoda, told the guests of the IX International Trade Fair "SUGD - 2023" about the investment opportunities in the region and called on representatives of the business community not to be afraid to invest in the economy, to strengthen partnerships in all areas of business and social cooperation.

On the same day, the delegation of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly took part in the visiting meeting of the Business Council of Tajikistan - Russia. The parties presented each other in detail the opportunities for cooperation, including in tourism. The Tourism Development Council of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly attracted high-level partners to participate in the event.

The SUGD-2023 events were attended by the Deputy Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, President of the Eurasian Academy of Television and Radio Valery Ruzin, Deputy Head of the General Secretariat of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly Marina Plyasunova, Head of the Department of the CIS countries, EAEU, SG of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly Olga Neferova.

The International Trade Fair is being held for the ninth time. The main purpose of its holding is to support manufacturers from Tajikistan, increase export potential, establish cooperation with foreign manufacturers, as well as introduce new technologies and develop international trade and economic relations.

In 2023, more than 300 companies from Tajikistan, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and other countries participated in the International Trade Fair. The program of the Fair included many business events, meetings, discussions, panel sessions, and an extensive cultural program.
