EURASIA KIDS Meets with Clown Krendel Online

“Breakfast with Krendel” is Anton Mrykhin’s (clown Krendel) new project. Every day at 9:00, clown Krendel goes live on his Instagram page. Morning exercises, incendiary dances, interesting guests, and on Thursdays broadcasts from the Zoo! It’s a “Good morning!” that provides positive emotions for a whole day, or even a week! Anton told EURASIA KIDS about the idea of creating the project, about how to treat sadness, and about new larger projects.

- How did you come up with the idea of “Breakfast with Krendel”?

- To be honest, I just thought: “We need to do something!”  I've long wanted to do Instagram, but I always had excuses for myself. Well, now we are all in self-isolation, there is no work as usually, there is no place to spend holidays - everything is closed. The work of those who are engaged in holidays is mainly based on “word of mouth radio”, so that people do not forget me, I decided to go online, arrange a workout at 9:00. We will get out of quarantine one day, people will get used to sleeping long, so it will be difficult for them to wake up, so I decided to get them up early now.

The name “Breakfast with Pretzel” did not come immediately, at first it were just morning exercises. Then I decided that time should be occupied with something, five or ten minutes are not enough for communication with children. The first day we danced, I realized that it would not be very interesting for children to look at me alone. Then we started playing, making different crafts, and then decided to invite guests. After a week and a half, the Zoo staff came to me and offered to conduct live broadcasts from there. I liked the idea very much, and on Thursday (April 16. - Ed.) I had my first broadcast from the Zoo.

- The clown Krendel is not too lazy to get up at 9: 00 to share his good mood with people, isn’t he? How do you manage to hold so much energy?

- The clown Krendel doesn't get up at 9:00, but even earlier. To charge with mood is not lazy at all for me, it can be hard to wake up, but then you realize that once you have decided something, you need to do it. This is not a matter of laziness, but of some five-minute relaxation of the body.

How does Krendel hold so much energy? Yes, in fact, there is nothing complicated. I have been doing this for a long time, so jumping and playing with children for half an hour is easy for me.

- Where do you get inspiration for your work?

- Where do I get it?  If we talk about our meetings, I just sit and think what to do next. I have a lot of friends; I call and invite them to live broadcasts. Sometimes people come out to me. After two weeks of self-isolation, I realized that sometimes it was no longer interesting for children to look at me alone, so I decided that I would have visitors two or three times a week.

As for the videos I upload to Instagram, these are challenges. For example, you go to TikTok - it's a youth network, the videos published there can not be found in Instagram. So, you could say I'm transferring these videos to Instagram. But now I plan to implement some of my ideas in a video.

- Do you ever feel sad? How do you dispel your melancholy? Is there some kind of life hack?

- This is actually a very philosophical question. Everyone gets sad, and so do I. Someone said that people who make others laugh and amuse are sadder than others.

How to dispel sadness? This is very difficult. You need to go into this topic for an hour or two. I know life hacks: you need to listen to sad music first, and then fun music, and it goes away. You may watch funny videos, but I don't do that. Sadness happens for different reasons and is treated differently.

- Is “Breakfast with Kredel” just the beginning? Should we wait for new projects?

- I think so. This is just the beginning. New projects are being prepared and there are some drafts already. We are currently planning a YouTube channel, but for now I will not say what exactly will be there. I plan the channel to have three directions: for children, for adults and for family viewing. I want to get online greetings for Russia and Russian-speaking countries. Now people are on self-isolation, they just need an elementary distraction. If adults have something to do, I can use the video link to play with their child while they are busy. Well, there are plans, of course, to make it more global: at least - for Russia, as a maximum – for Russian-speaking countries.
