EURASIA KIDS: Children of Nagorno-Karabakh took the “Peace Relay” from the Yunarmyans of Krasnodar

Children of Nagorno-Karabakh took the “Peace Baton” from the Yunarmyans of Krasnodar. As part of the action, teenagers painted graffiti calling for peace and friendship on earth.

The action took place in Stepanakert at school No. 3 named after Griboyedov. More than fifty spray paint cans were spent on the drawings. In four hours, under the guidance of a professional artist, the schoolchildren depicted the Earth and children who adorn their planet.

“It all started when Krasnodar schoolchildren painted Leopold the Cat with his famous phrase: “Let's live as friends!” Then, the guys recorded a video message for the children of Nagorno-Karabakh. On the New Year Eve, the Yunarmyans made a wish for good and friendship to reign in the world, and decided to share this,” - said Anton Kuznetsov, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Project UNARMY.

The graffiti is drawn in the courtyard of the school. Schoolchildren of Nagorno-Karabakh, having taken over the relay from the youth of Krasnodar, passed it on to the children of the whole world. It is planned that in the near future such actions will be held in Abkhazia, Belarus, Transnistria, Serbia, Italy and other countries.

“Peace is the main thing on our planet. We must wish peace to all States on the Earth. And we must remember that war is bad. And we need to appreciate the time we spend with family and friends,” - said Susanna Harutyunyan, a student of grade 11 “A”.

School No. 3 named after Griboyedov was founded in 1943. Currently, more than 600 children study here. After the ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh, the school reopened its doors on December 7, 2020.

In accordance with the agreements indicated in the joint statement of the President of the Russian Federation, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, a complete ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh was announced from 00:00 Moscow time on November 10, 2020.

A peacekeeping contingent of the Russian Federation is deployed to control the ceasefire and military operations in Nagorno-Karabakh.

Recall, the All-Russian Children and Youth Military-Patriotic Public Movement “YUNARMY” was created at the initiative of the Russian Ministry of Defence. It is supported by the President of the Russian Federation. YUNARMY has already united more than 740 thousand children and adolescents throughout the country. There are regional headquarters in each of 85 regions of Russia. The main goal is to arouse interest of the younger generation in the geography and history of Russia, its peoples, heroes, outstanding scientists and military leaders.
