“Everything you do today is a very big foundation for the future to build the North-South transport corridor, to localize the regional economy of our production, high technologies, IT technologies, digital transformation. We all start with new educational programs that would give us a full understanding of what we should do in these markets, in these countries, including from the point of view of humanitarian cooperation. Therefore, I think that your course in the future should include everything that is necessary today for Russia and the whole world,” - said Igor Morozov, welcoming the competition participants.

Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly Andrei Belianinov believes that international competitions such as “Leader of Public Diplomacy” are aimed at uniting Public diplomats, caring people, and educating young people around the world.

“A lot of destructive things have happened in the 21st century, and now it is very important to communicate, get to know each other, including using new technologies. Dear leaders, competition participants, be friends with each other, learn more about each other, learn more about countries. The activities of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly show that everyone wants to be together. We are building good relations with the countries of Latin America and the African continent. This is already wider than Eurasia,” - said the Secretary General.

Andrei Belianinov addressed the audience with a proposal to think about another important topic during the competition - the fate of the book in the 21st century. It was decided to take this theme for study and the participants of the intensiveness will present their thoughts in a short essay as part of the next educational stage - solving practical cases.

Continuing the meeting, the Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the International Competition “Leader of Public Diplomacy” Svetlana Smirnova recalled that the International Competition “Leader of Public Diplomacy” is implemented by the All-Russian public organization “Assembly of the Peoples of Russia” and the Administration of the Governor of the Perm Territory with the support of the Presidential Grants Foundation. The co-organizer and main partner of the project is the International Union of Non-Governmental Organizations "Eurasian Peoples' Assembly".

“Today we (the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly) consider this project as strategic. Last year, thanks to the competition, 23 countries of the world became our partners and friends. It is very important that as a result of our communication and interaction, new large-scale projects appear,” - explained Svetlana Smirnova.

The Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the competition also told about its main stages, terms and conditions for participants to qualify for the finals. Following the educational intensiveness, from October 17 to October 31, there will be an online workshop held for semi-finalists (completing practical tasks, solving practical cases). 30 people will reach the finals, from whom the winners of the competition - leaders of public diplomacy - will be determined. The final will take place in Perm in December 2023.

“We are very pleased that the finalists and laureates of the 2022 competition have become active participants in the events of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly in 2023. This is great, because we (the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly – ed. note) were created precisely to unite people of different nationalities, different faiths, people from different countries in order to strengthen friendship between peoples... In general, we live in very interesting times - turbulent times, but at the same time very interesting. It presents us with new challenges and new opportunities. It is a time of responsible people. And so, we would like our leaders of Public diplomacy to become real leaders who are ready to take and take the responsibility for themselves, for their family, for their country and for the whole world,” - said the First Deputy Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly.

Natalia Zabolotskikh, coordinator of the “Leader of Public Diplomacy” project, spoke in more detail about the educational modules and speakers of the international competition.

“There are a lot of interesting projects submitted this year. In the course of our and your interaction, they will indeed be able to acquire a large-scale sound. I believe that you will find like-minded people, partners and, perhaps, new friends,” - said Natalia Zabolotskikh.

In the course of the educational intensiveness, the contest participants will learn about such topics as the qualities of a leader in the modern world, the use of new mechanisms and tools for promoting projects in Public diplomacy, new media in project activities and their role, "leadership" and "Public diplomacy" in the formation of a multipolar world order, and others.
