Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev met with the Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly Andrei Belyaninov, according to the official website of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.
Andrey Belyaninov informed about the preparation and expected results of the meeting of the General Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, which will be held on July 9, 2021 in Moscow. Konstantin Kosachev accepted the invitation to take part in the Assembly.
The meeting discussed issues of interaction between the upper chamber of Parliament and the Assembly during the implementation of certain recommendations of the Resolution of the Federation Council "On the prospects of integration processes within the Eurasian Economic Union."
Particular attention was paid to the possible participation of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly in the preparation and holding of the World Conference on Intercultural and Interreligious Dialogue, which is scheduled for May 2022 in St. Petersburg.
According to Konstantin Kosachev, the Assembly can make a significant contribution to the content of the agenda of the World Conference, as well as to the coordination of interaction with partners in Eurasian integration.
About the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly
The International Union of Non-Governmental Organizations "Eurasian Peoples' Assembly" was established in 2017 in Moscow by representatives of 67 countries of the continent as a platform for combining the efforts of non-governmental organizations and business communities in the development of integration processes, approving the ideas of peacemaking and strengthening good-neighborly and business relations in Eurasia.
