“Delovoj Kazakhstan”: International Conference on “Spiritual Harmony is the Foundation of Peace” was held in the Nur-Sultan

The International Online Conference “Spiritual Harmony - the Foundation of Peace”, dedicated to the Day of Spiritual Harmony and the 10th anniversary of the World Forum of Spiritual Culture was held in Nur - Sultan.

The event was attended by Vice-Minister of information and public development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Marat Azilkhanov, President of the International Association “Peace via Culture”, Honoured Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan, composer Tolegen Mukhamedzhanov, representatives of religious associations, Kazakh and foreign scientists-experts in the field of interfaith harmony and security.

As the Head of the Capital's Department of Religious Affairs Nurdaulet Almukhanov noted, one of the values of sovereign Kazakhstan is spirituality, which covers different aspects of life.

“The course of peacekeeping policy chosen by the First President of Kazakhstan - Elbasy has become a stable platform for growing influence in the global world. To overcome modern challenges and threats, such as violence, religious extremism and terrorism, Elbasy initiated a Congress of leaders of world and traditional religions in the capital.

The city became a platform for peace talks.

As the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan K. Tokayev in his message to the people, it is necessary to note the role of representatives of various religious associations who daily contribute to strengthening the unity of the people of Kazakhstan,” - Nurdaulet Almukhanov said.

Today, representatives of 40 various religious confessions and about 130 ethnic groups live in Kazakhstan. There are about 3,200 religious and about 4,000 religious associations in the country.

The First World Congress of Spiritual Harmony was held on the initiative of the First President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev in Almaty on October 18, 1992. On this day, the Congress participants adopted a Manifesto designed to declare October 18 as the Day of Spiritual Harmony.
