A Delegation of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly on a Working Visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain

February 10 - 14, 2023 a delegation of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly headed by Deputy Secretary General Yulia Petrova was on a working visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain. The delegation included the Co-Chairman of the General Council of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Alexandra Ochirova, the Head of the Department for Sustainable Development of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly Dr. Yaser Allaham and the Chairman of the UNESCO International Children’s Congress Club Vladimir Viquious.

During the visit, there were held meetings with the Association of Graduates of Soviet and Russian Universities, the Chairman and Deputies of the Parliament of the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Chairman of the Mejlis Al-Shura, the Governor and members of the administration in the city of Al-Muharraq.

The delegation of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly was welcomed at the highest level. UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Alexandra Ochirova presented the concept of the modern world order, the risks and challenges of the modern world. Particular attention was paid to the problems of morality and spiritual and cultural values, traditions and civilizational meanings in building a new multipolar world. Alexandra Ochirova noted the need to create and form new models of the world order, safe and sustainable development.

Deputy Secretary General Yulia Petrova spoke about the activities of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, about its interest in expanding multilateral cooperation with partners from the Kingdom of Bahrain, as well as about readiness to implement joint projects, what will undoubtedly give a new round to the development of scientific, educational, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation and will contribute to the further strengthening of friendly relations in the Eurasian space.

For his part, the Head of the Department for Sustainable Development of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly, Dr. Yaser Allaham, noted the importance of cooperation in various fields and thanked the Bahraini side for the warm welcome and support of the initiatives of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly, which is an international platform and serves as the foundation for strengthening contacts between countries and peoples of the Eurasian continent.

The main issues for discussion were the opening of the Representative Office of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly in the Kingdom of Bahrain, holding international round tables and conferences; professional training at specialized universities; organization of advanced training courses, short-term internships and language courses, cultural and humanitarian exchanges, as well as exchanges through young parliamentarians.

The delegation was invited to the Symposium of Architects and Artists, in the format of an international plein air. The Symposium gathered 196 artists from 17 countries of the world. The parties negotiated on organizing an international symposium in Russia in August this year, and also discussed the signing of a cooperation agreement with the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly. The meeting participants unanimously supported the proposal to establish the Eurasian Academy of Arts.

The Eurasian Peoples' Assembly expresses its deep gratitude to the Chairman of the Association of Graduates of Soviet and Russian Universities, Dr. Yousif Zainal, for organizing the visit and full cooperation in holding meetings and negotiations.
