Andrey Yuryevich Belyaninov, Secretary General of the International Union of Non-Governmental Organizations “Eurasian Peoples' Assembly”

Dear friends!

Congratulations to all of us on the International Day of Happiness. This holiday was established by the UN in 2012 at the initiative of the Kingdom of Bhutan that recognized the supremacy of national happiness over national income.

Bhutan has already proved to the whole world that GDP does not always reflect the real state of affairs in the world. The hopes of most people on our planet are not tied to wealth. First of all, we aspire to be happy and healthy. We wish you peace and prosperity; we do not accept aggression, indifference and injustice. We want to preserve our common natural resources, cultural and moral values for future generations.

Four years ago, the Assembly took a course towards deepening the integration processes by combining the efforts of non-governmental organizations, and our efforts did not go unnoticed. We have a lot to be proud of. In March 2021, the International Union of Non-Governmental Organizations “The Eurasian Peoples' Assembly”, meeting all the criteria for a high-level prize, was registered as a candidate for the 2021 Felix Houphouet-Boigny-UNESCO Peace Prize.

Quite recently, we decided to establish a Department of Happiness in the structure of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly. I am sure that in a year we will have what to tell you about its activities.

I take this opportunity to invite all of you to join the Assembly and cooperate with our organization.

On the International Day of Happiness I wish everyone a bright, peaceful sky overhead, peace of mind, harmony and excellent mood. Be happy!
