Baltija.eu: Russian Centre for Science and Culture in New Delhi celebrated the 55th Anniversary

Famous Indian political and public figures, representatives of the country's cultural, scientific and business elite, leaders and activists of friendship societies, youth organizations and partner non-governmental organizations came to congratulate the Russian Centre for Science and Culture in New Delhi (RCSC) on the anniversary.

The evening was held in a hybrid format: a limited number of guests (up to 40 people) were present at the event, and about 100 people connected to it online.

The main guests of the evening were President of the Institute for Global Studies, former Ambassador of India to Kazakhstan and Sweden Ashok Sajanhar, a prominent Indian politician, co-Chairman of the International organization “Eurasian Peoples' Assembly” Dalbir Singh, former Governor of Sikkhim State, First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of India Balmiki Prasad Singh, famous Indian classical dancer, the founder and director of the Delhi International Festival of Arts Prathibha Prahlad and former Chief of Staff of the Indian Navy, co-Chairman of RusEducation, Admiral R.K. Dhovan.

The central event of the evening was the official ceremony of cancellation of the commemorative postal envelope, which was carried out by the postmaster general of the Delhi Indian Post Department, Akhilesh Kumar Pandey. The envelope was issued by the Indian Post Department specifically for the 55th anniversary of the RCSC.

There is a photo exhibition at the RCSC in New Delhi. The exposition includes more than 120 photographs that cover the major milestones in history since the Soviet Cultural Centre to the Russian Centre for Science and Culture, as well as the most striking and significant events that have made a considerable contribution to the development and strengthening of Russian-Indian friendship.

Note that these days the Russian Centre for Science and Culture in Trivandrum celebrates its 45th anniversary.

The Representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in India unites five RCSCs - in New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and Trivandrum.

The Representative office sees its task in further strengthening ties with compatriots living in India, promoting their activities to expand cultural, scientific and business cooperation with Russia. Compatriots have the opportunity to use the libraries and video libraries of the RCSC, participate in club work, and attend Russian language courses. The Representative office fully supports the Indian Association of Russian Compatriots (IARC) that works on the basis of the RCSC in New Delhi, as well as clubs and compatriots' societies in Chennai and Mumbai. The RCSC assists compatriots' organizations in holding events dedicated to Russian holidays and memorable days.
