SOCHI. June 8. A meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government was held in a narrow and expanded format on the site of the federal territory "Sirius". Andrey Belyaninov, Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly took part in the extended meeting.
“Russia is sincerely interested in further strengthening cooperation in the Commonwealth of Independent States. Over the past three decades, we have created a solid legal and regulatory framework for cooperation, both in the trade and economic sphere and, what is very important, in the social and humanitarian sphere. This directly affects the interests of all citizens of the participating countries,” emphasized Mikhail Mishustin.
The participants of the meeting signed agreements “On the Concept of development of industrial cooperation of the CIS member states and the Complex of measures for the development of industrial cooperation of the CIS member states for the period up to 2030”.
The objectives of the Concept are the creation of new high-tech industries, the accelerated development and modernization of industrial production in the CIS countries, its technological renewal, the increase in production and exports of competitive, innovative and high-tech products with high added value. In turn, the Complex of Measures for the Development of Industrial Cooperation of the CIS Member States for the period until 2030 provides for the development and deepening of industrial cooperation through the implementation of appropriate industrial policies of the Commonwealth.
The Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Roman Golovchenko, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov, the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic - Head of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic, Chairman of the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS - Akylbek Zhaparov, Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Hodzhamyrat Geldimyradov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to the Russian Federation Botirjon Asadov, Secretary General of the Commonwealth of Independent States Sergey Lebedev took part in the meetings in narrow and extended formats.
The parties agreed to hold a regular meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS Member States in Bishkek on October 27, 2023.
In addition to the meeting of the Council of the Heads of Government of the CIS Member States, the site of the Sirius federal territory hosts on June 7-9 the events of the chairmanship of the Russian Federation in the EAEU bodies in 2023: a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council (June 7-8), III Eurasian Congress (8-9 June), the II Youth Forum of the CIS and the EAEU (June 7-9) and the international exhibition "Eurasia is Our Home" (June 7-9). The program of events of the Russian chairmanship includes consideration of priority issues of interaction and integration within the framework of the EAEU through ministries and departments, organizations, as well as meetings at the level of heads of state and government.
