On December 21, the thirteenth meeting of the Public Council under Rossotrudnichestvo was held at the Alexander Solzhenitsyn House of Russians Abroad.
The meeting began with a minute of silence in memory of the Deputy Chairman of the Public Council, Vladimir Chetiy, who passed away on November 27.
Chairman of the Public Council Igor Chaika informed those present about the outcomes of the Public Council’s work for 2023. The public control block and the expert advisory block of the main areas of the council’s activities were examined in detail.
Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly Andrei Belianinov noted the fruitful interaction with the Russian Houses, and also spoke about some of the results of the Assembly's work. Andrey Belianinov also shared his work plans, including the creation of a digital ecosystem for the North-South transport corridor, the development of the Eurasian Book Agency and preparations for the World Social Summit.
The Chairman of the Public Council presented information on the events carried out, the financing of which was carried out by the Public Council from extra-budgetary sources. Among them are humanitarian assistance to residents of Donbass and participants of the Special Military Operation, development of a design concept for non-state Russian houses, training for representatives of public organizations from neighboring countries, pre-design work on the reconstruction of a kindergarten in the Armenian village of Fioletovo, implementation of the project “GITIS School in Santiago”, etc.
Deputy Head of Rossotrudnichestvo Dmitry Polikanov presented the results of the implementation of the Concept of Openness of Federal Executive Bodies, outlined the Agency’s plans for the next year, and also spoke about plans for holding an international conference on food security on the African continent and the “Common Sense” festival in India and China.
The meeting also summed up the results of the Public Council commissions’ work in 2023.
