Andrei Belianinov was awarded the People's Diplomat Breastplate

Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly Andrei Belianinov received the “People’s Diplomat” breastplate. The breastplate was established by the Center for Public Diplomacy of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Uzbekistan and is awarded to prominent government and public figures, representatives of science and diplomatic missions.

Today, the honorary mission of handing over the breastplate was carried out by the First Deputy Secretary General - Head of the General Secretariat of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly Svetlana Smirnova. She represented the organization on October 23, 2023 at the International scientific and practical seminar “Intercultural dialogue in the modern world: education, enlightenment and public diplomacy” in the capital of Uzbekistan. Its initiators were the SCO Center for Public Diplomacy in Uzbekistan and the top leadership of the Republic headed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Director of the Center for Public Diplomacy of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Uzbekistan Kabuljon Sabirov, handing over the “People’s Diplomat” award to Andrei Belianinov, noted that the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly and the SCO Center for Public Diplomacy in Uzbekistan have already had a 5-year history. During this time, a long way has been traveled, many events and projects aimed at strengthening peace, friendship, harmony and, most importantly, trust between peoples have been prepared.

Having received the breastplate in Moscow, Andrei Belianinov said: “I serve public diplomacy!” And these words are constantly confirmed by concrete deeds, confirming the ever-increasing role of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly in the conditions of the formation of a multipolar world, the establishment of peace and harmony, through the development of multilateral cooperation and public (people’s) diplomacy.
