On September 17, the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly will hold the 22nd session of the International Public Forum dedicated to the 78th anniversary of the liberation of Eastern Europe from fascist occupation.
Despite the tense international situation, when interaction between Russia and the countries of Eastern Europe has been temporarily put on pause: direct flights have been suspended, Russian diplomats have been expelled, the participation of local media in the Russophobic information campaign has intensified, the organizers consider it important to hold this forum and declare to the general public about the importance of the contribution of the partisan movement to the common victory over Nazism.
Historians and public figures from Eastern Europe, the Baltic countries and Russia will take part in the forum.
Issues for discussion:
- Review of military operations in the Balkans in 1944–1945;
- Prerequisites for the transition of the countries of Eastern Europe to the side of the anti-Hitler coalition;
- Participation of national military formations together with the Red Army in the liberation of the peoples of Europe from the Nazi invaders;
- Historiography of the liberation of the countries of Eastern Europe from the fascist yoke: a modern view in books, publications, documentaries;
- Military graves, commemorative signs and memorial plaques to fighters against fascism;
- Creation of an association of descendants of fighters against fascism;
- The need to complete the collection of materials and prepare for the publication of the book "Victory for All" in English, Bulgarian and Russian about the combat path of the Bulgarian soldiers, who were supplied, armed and trained by the Red Army during the Great Patriotic War.
“Associations of descendants” is a project implemented by the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, launched by a Kazakhstani scientist, professor of Al-Farabi KazNAU Layla Akhmetova from collecting data on the legendary Panfilov division. The descendants of soldiers of this division live today in 12 countries of the world. The International Association of the Panfilovites Descendants and Their Friends (IAPD) has been established and actively operates.
To systematize and consider disparate information, the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, together with the “Alliance Media” national business partnership, is creating the Memory Network Media Platform, which is currently being filled with documentary data by volunteers and enthusiasts from the CIS countries, Russia and the Baltic States. Today there is information about 11 thousand people of the Panfilov division personnel, as well as data on the 316th Lithuanian rifle division that fought in the Battle of Kursk. Systematization of data about it is carried out by enthusiasts of the Oryol region under the leadership of the chairman of the search squad "Fakel" Natalia Bodrova.
We invite historians, researchers, search squads, descendants and everyone interested in preserving historical memory to create and work in associations of descendants!
Detailed information is available on the website of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly.
The 22nd session of the International Public Forum, dedicated to the 78th anniversary of the liberation of Eastern Europe from fascist occupation, will be held under the support of the Diplomatic Service Veterans Fund (an organization of the Russian Foreign Ministry), the cultural and educational organization of Bulgarians in Moscow "BG-DIASPORA", the Eurasian Academy of Television and Radio .
