The jubilee X International Scientific and Expert Forum "Primakov Readings" in Moscow is the first one that clearly outlined the meanings and trends of the polycentricity of the world community. The Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly explored the corridors of new opportunities and challenges emerging against the backdrop of the transformation of the entire world order. A large block of topics of the two-day readings under the aegis of "Russia in the World Context" is devoted to the expansion of strategic partnership between the South and the East within the framework of the Greater Eurasian Development. We have chosen the main thing for you.

Svetlana Sharenkova, Deputy Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples’ assembly Assembly, Chairman of the Sofia Forum "Bulgaria - Russia", emphasized in her speech the importance of dialogue in the format of the Moscow "Primakov Readings". Е. M. Primakov, Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation (1998-1999) and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation (1996-1998) at a critical moment for the security architecture of the Eastern Hemisphere states ("partition of Yugoslavia" and the very beginning of mass proxy coups, civil conflicts and "color revolutions" in Eurasia and Africa) formulated the ideas of the world order of the XXI century, calling on all parties to conflicts to follow the path of compromise for the sake of confronting common challenges. Prof. Svetlana Sharenkova announced the holding of Primakov Readings in Sofia in October 2024 with the support of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly.

Primakov's ideas are even more important today, given how rapidly formerly topical geopolitical issues - from the essence of definitions of "democracy" and "open market" to "freedom of speech" are being changed and even supplanted in many contemporary meanings and trends.

"Yevgeny Primakov left a rich theoretical legacy. His scientific works had not only predictive power, but also represented a strategic view of the modern world. His predictions came true quickly, because he was one of the few who was able to stay ahead of time and shape the future. Yevgeny Maximovich formulated the ideas of a multipolar world. He firmly believed that unilateral hegemony has no solid foundation, does not create balance and order, but generates crises and conflicts," said Svetlana Sharenkova.

She emphasized Primakov's main message. The attempt to exclude Russia from solving the world's problems within the framework of strengthening the unipolar community has become a manifestation of serious political myopia of the collective West. The spiritual strength, historical experience and sobornost of the Russian Federation do not allow the state to be an appendage, while Primakov called on Russia and the West to follow the path of compromise for the sake of confronting common challenges.

The speakers of the forum nevertheless noted that there are still corridors and windows of opportunity for finding and adopting conflict-free solutions in global politics. Yulia Petrova, Deputy Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly, Professor of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, noted the importance of preserving common sense in the economy and, above all, in the humanitarian sphere.

"Primakov was ahead of his time - the polycentric triangle of RIC (Russia-India-China alliance), the formation of which Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov is now talking about within the forum, was obvious to Yevgeny Maximovich. The model of the Eurasian security being created is open to all, and these are the ideas being formed in blocs of countries and subject states and sovereign nations, such as APEC, SCO, CSTO and others. The priority of the humanitarian sphere in his report of the "Primakov Readings" was emphasized by Mikhail Shvydkoy, Special Representative of the President of Russia for International Cultural Cooperation, and the goals will be achieved", - emphasized Professor Yulia Petrova.

In the humanitarian sphere of interstate, interethnic and interreligious cooperation, moments of commonality of cultures and nations are becoming more and more relevant, emphasized Tatiana Poznyanskaya, Head of the Directorate for the Preservation of Historical Memory of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly. The 28th Vladimir Menshov International Film Festival "Won Together", the largest in the CIS and EAEU countries, will be traditionally held this year by the Eurasian Academy of Television and Radio (EATR) in Sochi, and it is the most effective platform that unites directors, producers, representatives of the film and television industry of dozens of countries around cultural and historical meanings.

Valery Ruzin, President of the EATR, Deputy Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly emphasized the need to preserve the historical memory of the Eurasian peoples through the retransmission and the most complete scaling of author's cinematographic works.

The X "Primakov Readings" are noticeably turned towards the South and the East, what coincides with global expectations and trends of gathering countries and peoples on a humanitarian basis in a common quest for independence and political subjectivity. Eurasian states are massively leaving the orbit of the monocentric, and in many respects still colonial world order. Within the international activities of the Academy and strategic development of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly, we work productively with Chinese friends, with partners from Indochina and North Africa, as well as Europe and America, clearly understanding how important it has become today to unite peoples on the basis of peace, justice and friendly relations, respect for people's cultures, traditions and historical memory", - emphasized Valery Ruzin.
