Eurasian Peoples' Assembly and AFROCOM Committee signed a Cooperation Agreement

On April 13, in Moscow, the International Union of Non-Governmental Organizations “Eurasian Peoples' Assembly” and the Coordination Committee for Economic Cooperation with African Countries (AFROCOM) signed a cooperation agreement.

The Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly Andrei Belyaninov and the Chairman of the AFROCOM Committee Igor Morozov signed the document.

The agreement provides for the expansion and strengthening of international business cooperation, including the pooling of efforts of organizations in the African direction.

“We see a professional team and the scale the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly has gained over the past few years. AFROCOM already has twenty representative offices in African countries and unites about one hundred Russian enterprises, both industrial and IT. By combining our efforts with the Assembly, with parliamentary diplomacy, we will get new synergy in all areas of interaction with partners,” - said Igor Morozov, Chairman of the AFROCOM Committee at the signing.

The parties agreed to exchange experience and information in tourism, commercial and industrial environment, export, import, finance and financial instruments, investments, innovations, as well as to propose measures to stimulate the investment activity of Eurasian countries.

Eurasian Peoples' Assembly

The Eurasian Peoples' Assembly is an international non-governmental organization aimed at forming a social integration model in the name of establishing peace and harmony through the development of multilateral cooperation and public (people's) diplomacy in the Eurasian space. The Assembly brings together representatives from more than 43 countries. The organization has concluded 114 partnership agreements in culture, entrepreneurship, the development of integration ties between the peoples of Eurasia and public diplomacy. AFROCOM

The Russian public non-profit organization “Coordination Committee for Economic Cooperation with African Countries AFROCOM” provides assistance, coordination and political and diplomatic support to business projects of international economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation between Russia and Africa. It assists in the development and rapprochement of religions and cultures, friendship between the peoples of Russia and African countries. AFROCOM participates in projects and initiatives aimed at solving Africa's problems, in resolving environmental problems, rational use of the world's natural resources, the introduction of energy-saving, harmless technologies in cooperation with relevant environmental research centres and specialized institutions in Russia and abroad.
