The First Day of the Great Patriotic War. DAY OF MEMORY AND SORROW... REMEMBER!

19/06/2024 12:23

Dear members of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly!

For several years now, our International Union of Non-Governmental Organizations has been holding memorial events in connection with the dates of events that influenced the course of History in Eurasia and throughout the world.

On June 22, 1941, the Great Patriotic War began; it finished five years later with the complete defeat of Nazi Germany.

This day now is the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow for the gigantic sacrifice made by the peoples of the Soviet Union on the altar of the Great Victory.

On this day, we call you on, together with your families and like-minded friends, to lay flowers at the monuments to the monuments of the heroes who fought to defeat Nazism and fascism and to light candles of remembrance.

If you can capture your personal participation in the international action for the preservation of historical memory using video on your smartphones, the Assembly will post your short videos (up to 3 minutes) on its website following the results of the memory action.
