
Today, the ITAR-TASS news agency held a press conference dedicated to the BRICS Financial and Economic Forum 2024 (IFE Forum BRICS 2024), which will take place on May 27, 2024 in Moscow. Andrey Belyaninov, Secretary General of the International Union of Non-Governmental Organizations "Eurasian Peoples' Assembly", took part in the meeting with journalists. The Assembly acted as a partner of the dialogue platform.
The BRICS 2024 financial and economic forum is dedicated to the development of business in the context of global transformation. Also, in a separate block, the forum will cover the topic of the formation of the BRICS international legal order a new form of world order.
Andrei Belyaninov said that today the BRICS countries require completely new approaches in the banking sector; they need to promote settlements in national currencies.
“I would like BRICS to get rid of excessive banking conservatism a little. This should not be a gamble, but completely new approaches are needed. And as for settlements in national currencies, it is imperative to do so,” he emphasized.
“The main task is to coordinate the efforts of financial institutions of the BRICS member countries. Probably, latently, we should also set ourselves the task of expanding BRICS, at least in terms of finance, in terms of economics, because the opportunities are very large, and even this is further confirmed by the visit of Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin to China,” added Andrey Belyaninov.
The Secretary General also noted that for countries of integration education today there are a large number of investment projects and large-scale tasks that require attention, for example, in the field of transport logistics and information security.
“They are expecting new proposals, new system solutions from the Russian side, and they are looking at how we formulate our tasks. We need to discuss Russia’s role in the financial and economic component of the BRICS work.”
