Meeting of the Committee for the Development of Spiritual Culture of the Representative Office of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly in Bashkortostan

On January 13, the Committee for the Development of Spiritual Culture, Literature and Art of the Representation of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly in the Republic of Bashkortostan (Russia) held the first meeting in 2022.

The meeting was held in an expanded format. In addition to the co-chairs of the Committee the historian and writer Alexander Leonidov and the writer, researcher at the Department of Ethnology of the Institute of History, Language and Literature of the Ufa Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences Renart Sharipov, the event was attended by the poet, playwright, translator, editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Istoki" Aidar Khusainov, organizer of gastronomic events, director of the Club of like-minded restaurateurs "bUffet" Vitaly Baranovsky.

During the meeting, the participants discussed the prospects for translating the works of Bashkortostan writers into international languages.

“Bashkir literature is rich and multifaceted,” said Alexander Leonidov. - We have a lot of works that deserve to become world heritage. Unfortunately, the lack of translation and communication between writers from different countries prevents this. Writers and poets are entrusted with a lot of work to create unity and solidarity among peoples.”

The parties also made their proposals on preparations for holding the Days of the Republic of Bashkortostan in Italy, timed to coincide with the Festival of Russian Art in Bari.
