The Victory Day, held in Verona, united those who now live far from their homeland: Russians, Belarusians, Ukrainians, Georgians and other peoples of the former Soviet republics.

The event was held under the patronage of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly, the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Milan and Rossotrudnichestvo in Italy.

Representatives of the Italian authorities and public organizations spoke with words of support and solidarity. The main idea was expressed: it is important not to forget the lessons of the past war and not to repeat the mistakes of the past, to avoid double interpretations and rethinking the values of the victory won.

Representatives of the younger generation of compatriots expressed their respect and gratitude to those who survived the harsh years of the war, who raised the Soviet Union from the ruins. The important task of the new generation is to preserve and convey the truth about the Great Victory.

The official part ended with the song "Victory Day", all the participants stood up and congratulated each other on the Great Victory Day.
