On May 18, the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation held a round table within the framework of the Forum of Young Parliamentarians. The topic of the round table was "The role of international youth cooperation in raising the level of interethnic (interethnic) and interfaith harmony among the youth."

The Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly was represented at the event by Deputy Secretary General Yulia Petrova and specialist of the Department of Sustainable Development Stanislav Olenin.

The round table was attended by authoritative Russian and foreign speakers, who are recognized international experts in the field of youth cooperation development. Konstantin Kosachev, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, addressed the speakers and invited guests with a welcoming speech. The round table was moderated by Anatoly Shirokov, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Federal Structure, Regional Policy, Local Self-Government and Northern Affairs.

The speakers were Bishop of Istra, Vicar of His Holiness Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, Chairman of the Synodal Department for Youth Serafim; Deputy Chairman of the Commission of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation for the harmonization of interethnic and interreligious relations Margarita Lyange; Yulia Lazutkina, member of the Federation Council Committee on Federal Structure, Regional Policy, Local Self-Government and Northern Affairs. Among the foreign speakers were, in particular, the Chairman of the Kadimun Party of the Republic of Iraq, Hussein Ali Al-Ramahi; Deputy of the People's Council of the Syrian Arab Republic Bashir Mohammed Galaungi, as well as representatives of Kazakhstan, Bahrain, Indonesia and Lebanon.

The discussion of the humanitarian aspects of interethnic interaction between young people, the development of international educational programs, forms of international volunteer movement and the expansion of youth tourism aroused the greatest interest. All those present supported Bishop Seraphim's proposal to organize an international interethnic religious youth forum.

Summing up, Anatoly Shirokov noted that live communication helps young people get out of the spiritual vacuum and find interest in each other at the expense of the foundations of the traditional values of the multinational people of Russia. There is a need to formulate the expectations of a new healthy world, to build friendship bridges and dialogues in the field of support and development of youth cooperation and parliamentarism.

It should be noted that the issues discussed at the round table are consonant with the goals and objectives of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly in the development of youth interaction, international volunteer projects and programs, which, no doubt, will help attract young people with an active life position to the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly - future opinion leaders of the Eurasian continent.
