The Eurasian and African Peoples’ Assembly will hold a round table “Public Diplomacy: Partnership for Peace and Harmony” dedicated to the International Day of Peace.

The event will take place on September 23 at 2:00 p.m. in the Civic Chamber of the Russia Federation and will bring together representatives of the diplomatic corps, international intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, public authorities, the scientific community and cultural figures.

The agenda of the round table includes issues of preserving traditional spiritual and moral values of the peoples of the world, the role of public diplomacy in strengthening intercultural dialogue, supporting youth initiatives, as well as the development of modern tools of interaction between society and the state.

“In a fast-changing world, ties based on trust and mutual respect remain stable,” - says Andrey Belianinov, Secretary General of the Eurasian and African Peoples’ Assembly. It is these ties that come to the fore, and civil society institutions, bound by common interests and values, will play a key role in shaping a new system of global partnership”.

Every year on the International Day of Peace, the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly holds events to draw attention to the importance of cooperation between peoples and countries and to highlight the role of civil society in promoting intercultural and humanitarian dialogue between them.

Organizers of the round table “Public Diplomacy: Partnership for Peace and Harmony”:

  • International Union of Non-Governmental Organizations “Eurasian and African Peoples’ Assembly”;
  • Commission of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation on Interethnic, Interreligious Relations and Migration;
  • Coordination Council of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation on International Cooperation.

The round table will be attended by representatives of state authorities, diplomatic corps, international intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, scientific community and cultural figures. The round table will be moderated by Andrey Belianinov, Secretary General of the Eurasian and African Peoples’ Assembly and Vladimir Zorin, Chairman of the Commission of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation on Interethnic, Interreligious Relations and Migration, member of the General Council of the Eurasian and African Peoples’ Assembly.
