Kyrgyzstan and Russia - New Formats of Cooperation

The XII Country Conference of Organizations of Russian Compatriots "Kyrgyzstan and Russia - New Formats of Cooperation" completed its work on April 2 in Bishkek, reported the Assembly of the People of Kyrgyzstan on its Facebook account.

The conference participants were greeted by the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Kyrgyz Republic Nikolay Udovichenko, Chairman of the Council of the Assembly of the People of Kyrgyzstan Abdygany Erkebaev, Ombudsman for Human Rights Tokon Mamytov, Deputy of the Bishkek City Council Valentina Lisnichenko, as well as Anatoly Sorokin, Senior Adviser of the Foundation for Support and Protection of the Rights of Compatriots Living abroad.

The conference raised issues related to the problems and prospects of economic activity of compatriots in Kyrgyzstan, the state of the Russian language in the country, education in Russian universities, improving work to protect the rights and legitimate interests of the Russian diaspora, promoting the development of the youth movement, preserving and promoting Russian culture and historical heritage abroad.

Also participants of the conference discussed the upcoming celebration of Victory Day, the "Immortal Regiment" action and the events planned for the Day of Russia.

Zukhra Shidakova, Deputy Chairperson of the Council of the Assembly of the People of Kyrgyzstan, President of the Public Association "International Association of Karachais "Ata-Jurt" was awarded a Diploma of the Government Commission on the Affairs of Compatriots Abroad, headed by Sergei Lavrov, "for providing assistance and support to veterans of the Great Patriotic War, as well as individual socially vulnerable compatriots.

Recall that the Assembly of the People of Kyrgyzstan became a co-organizer of the International Commemorative Action on June 22 of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly.
